President Trump’s trading activity surged in the first quarter, totaling more than 3,700 transactions, according to recent financial disclosures. US stocks have been predicted to start Monday trading in the red, as they ended last week, with investors continuing to worry about rising bond yields, stubborn inflation and the economic fallout from higher oil prices. Dow Jones futures were down around 262 points or 0.4%, while S&P 500...
The Kiplinger Letter’s argument is uncomfortable for anyone overweight artificial intelligence: almost none of the GDP growth Washington has been celebrating actually came from AI. The mechanics are counterintuitive. When hyperscalers buy NVIDIA chips manufactured by TSMC in Taiwan and servers assembled overseas, that spending lands in the import column, which subtracts from GDP. The ... A 58-year-old engineer in Palo Alto, married filing jointly, earns $750,000 a year, has already stuffed $4 million into 401(k)s and IRAs, and parks another $1.2 million in a brokerage account that holds a single S&P 500 fund. Billionaire investor Bill Ackman said on Saturday that the sale of Google parent Alphabet's shares was not a bet against the company. Ackman on Friday said his firm Pershing Square had built a new position in tech giant Microsoft after its stock price dropped recently, and sold his long-owned investment in Alphabet to help pay for it.
Two of Wall Street's most closely watched billionaire stock pickers, both once voluble activist investors, took opposite tacks this year when Bill Ackman bet on Microsoft and exited Google parent Alphabet and Daniel Loeb did the opposite. Ackman said on X his firm Pershing Square began building a new position in software giant Microsoft in February after shares dropped, saying investors weren't giving it enough credit for its Microsoft 365 office suite and artificial intelligence investments.
Hedge fund Tiger Global Management said it initiated new positions in an array of stocks including Intel and Robinhood Markets during the first quarter of 2026, according to its most recent 13-F filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday. The hedge fund also said it liquidated stakes in companies such as Circle Internet Group and Workday, while reducing its holdings of Microsoft and Apollo Global Management. Shares of Microsoft rose more than 3% Friday, bucking the trend on a down day for tech stocks. The move followed the announcement from investor Bill Ackman that his Pershing Square has taken a new stake in the software giant in a bet Microsoft's investments in AI aren't reflected in its stock price. Microsoft shares are down 12% this year and have lost about a quarter of their value since they peaked last fall.
Markets don’t move in a straight line — and neither do the people running the country. Q1 2026 was a quarter defined by tariff headlines, rate uncertainty, and a broad S&P 500 pullback that rattled retail and institutional investors alike. Most people were paralyzed. Some panicked. And at least one person — or rather, one ... President Trump’s Stock Broker Was the Busiest Person in America in Q1
Figma (NYSE: FIG) has had one of the wildest post-IPO rides in recent memory. After debuting at $33 in July 2025, the stock soared to nearly $143 before crashing to around $20. That’s an 88% collapse from peak levels, despite the business itself continuing to grow rapidly.
Bill Ackman announced on social media that his hedge fund Pershing Square will disclose a new position in Microsoft in a 13F filing with regulators today. Microsoft has been an outlier in the tech trade that has carried markets higher this year. "We began building our position in MSFT in February following a meaningful share price decline after the company reported its fiscal Q2 2026 results," Ackman wrote in a post on X. "We were able to establish our position at a valuation of 21 times forward earnings, broadly in line with the market multiple and well below Microsoft's trading average over the last few years."
The investor says the tech company is underpriced, and he will disclose the stake in regulatory filings later Friday.
Bill Ackman's hedge fund Pershing Square will disclose a new position in Microsoft later in the day, the billionaire investor said on Friday, arguing that the tech giant sits at a "highly compelling valuation". Ackman's new closed-end fund Pershing Square USA, which debuted on the NYSE last month, has also recently made Microsoft a core holding, he said in a post on social media platform X. Pershing's bet on Microsoft comes amid Ackman's growing appetite for tech holdings.

A trial that may shape the future of OpenAI enters its final stages on Thursday, as lawyers for Elon Musk try to convince a jury to hold the ChatGPT maker's leaders responsible for transforming the nonprofit into a vehicle to enrich themselves. Closing arguments are scheduled in the Oakland, California, federal court in Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman. Britain launched an antitrust investigation into Microsoft's dominance in business software that could lead to targeted action if the U.S. company is found to have "strategic market status" in the sector. It would also look at how AI competitors were able to integrate with Microsoft's business software, it said. An SMS designation would also allow the CMA to intervene in the cloud market, where it has previously found Microsoft's use of software licensing could be reducing competition in cloud services.

For years, Federal Reserve minutes were among Wall Street's most market-moving events. But in today's AI-driven rally, one earnings report may now rival macro data releases in influence: Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA).
