Investor expectations are high heading into the earnings season, leaving lots of room for disappointment. Consensus estimates signal S&P 500 earnings to grow 22% from the year-ago period, that’s after more than 27% growth in the first quarter, Bank of America reported. “Expectations are elevated, but we see no signs of earnings momentum rolling over,” Bank of America strategists said, issuing an earnings forecast that sat above consensus estimates and lifting their full-year EPS outlook.
