Analysis-AI investment boom puts Big Tech's free cash flow under pressure

The data shows the companies will generate about $340 billion more in annual operating cash flow in 2027 than in 2025, but capex is expected to rise by roughly $534 billion, equivalent to about $1.57 of additional investment for every $1 of additional cash flow.

Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 rose 1.9% to 67,511.12, after the government reported that both imports and exports rose last month from a year earlier, as the weakening yen raised the value of both when converted from dollars to yen. More gains for makers of computer chips and other companies benefiting from the artificial-intelligence boom carried Wall Street higher.
