Amazon said on Monday it has signed a multi-billion-dollar deal with specialty glass maker Corning aimed at boosting U.S. production of optical fiber and connectivity products that are used in data centers. Amazon, however, did not disclose any further financial details on the partnership. Investing.com -- Corning (NYSE:GLW) shares jumped 10% Monday after Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) announced a multiyear, multibillion-dollar agreement with the company to supply optical fiber, cable, and connectivity solutions for Amazon’s expanding data center infrastructure across the United States.

Companies ranging from construction firms to fiber-optic cable manufacturers to cooling specialists are down: Contractor Sterling Infrastructure and fiber provider Corning slid more than 10%.
