Why Uncle Sam’s Multi-Billion Dollar Quantum Influx Makes One of These Tech Giants an Unconditional Buy

Washington is pouring real money into quantum, and the Q1 2026 reports from IonQ (NYSE:IONQ) and IBM (NYSE:IBM) show why that matters. IonQ posted $64.67 million in revenue, up 755% year over year. IBM delivered $15.92 billion, up 9.46%. Same tailwind, two completely different financial realities. Hypergrowth on Borrowed Time vs. Cash Machine on Cruise ... IBM stock surged again: The reason sounds like sci-fi

IBM (IBM) hasn’t built a commercial computer chip of its own in nearly a decade. On Thursday, June 25, the company said its research labs had cracked something the rest of the chip industry hasn’t managed yet. The breakthrough has nothing to do with software, and everything to do with one tiny ...

No, IBM Is Not Becoming a Chipmaker — But It Just Revolutionized the Industry Anyway

The semiconductor industry has spent the last decade racing toward a physical wall. Engineers have steadily shrunk transistors to pack more computing power onto ever-smaller chips, but that strategy is running out of room. At today’s leading-edge process nodes, components are measured in just a handful of atoms. Heat, power leakage, and manufacturing complexity have ... IBM stock just got powerful new price target from Wall Street

June 23 gave me three reasons to pay closer attention to International Business Machines (IBM), also known simply as “Big Blue.” All three arrived together in a period of less than 48 hours. June 23, JPMorgan analyst Brian Essex upgraded IBM to Overweight from Neutral, raising his price target to ...

IBM unveils tech for chip smaller than 1 nanometer in AI computing push

IBM on Thursday unveiled what it said was the world's first technology capable of producing chips smaller than ‌one nanometer, as tech companies race to build semiconductors that can handle increasingly ‌demanding AI workloads. The new chip technology, which bolsters IBM's ‌position to compete with contract chipmakers TSMC and Intel, has a transistor architecture of 0.7 nanometers, or 7 angstroms. Last week, Intel said the new generation of its 18A manufacturing process, which makes 1.8 nanometer chips, moved into risk production, the testing phase before commercial manufacturing.

The NASDAQ Dropped 3% as Micron, Intel, and AMD Tumble, but One Tech Name Is Bucking the Trend

CNBC’s Dominic Chu opened Tuesday’s market coverage with a familiar tape pattern that has not shown up much in 2026. “The tech sell-off that began Monday building momentum this morning after memory chip related shares tanked on Asian markets overnight,” Chu told viewers, and damage in U.S. premarket concentrated exactly where expected. The NASDAQ-100 proxy ... The NASDAQ Dropped 3% as Micron, Intel, and AMD Tumble, but One Tech Name Is Bucking the Trend

Forget Betting on One Quantum Stock. This Fund Owns the Entire Field for Just 0.40%

Anyone who bought IonQ (NYSE:IONQ) bought a specific thesis: that trapped-ion architecture will win the race to commercial quantum computing. The stock rewards conviction when headlines break the right way and punishes it just as fast when they don’t. IonQ shares moved from $29.15 to $57.45 inside a six-month window in 2025, the kind of ... Forget Betting on One Quantum Stock. This Fund Owns the Entire Field for Just 0.40%

International Business Machines (IBM) picked up two separate catalysts within roughly a day this week, and only one came from a stock analyst. JPMorgan upgraded IBM (IBM) to Overweight on Tuesday and raised its price target to $291 from $270, a call built entirely on the company’s software ...

Why Investors Are Finally Separating Quantum Computing Winners From Losers

For much of the past two years, investors treated quantum computing as a single investment theme. Whether a company pursued trapped-ion systems, superconducting qubits, quantum annealing, or photonic architectures mattered less than the fact that it was associated with quantum computing. Capital flowed broadly into the sector as investors searched for the next transformative technology ... Why Investors Are Finally Separating Quantum Computing Winners From Losers
