The blue-chip index was up just 11 points, or essentially flat, in Friday trading, compared to a 1.3% gain for the Nasdaq. The Dow only includes 30 stocks, has a higher weighting toward financials and industrials and a lower weighting toward tech, and only weighs individual members by stock price rather than market cap.
