Uber and Autobrains target Munich for robotaxi rollout

Uber and Israel-based Autobrains said on Monday ‌they plan to launch ‌a robotaxi programme in Munich in collaboration with U.S. chipmaker Nvidia, marking a push to scale autonomous ride-hailing in Europe. The companies said they aim to ‌combine Uber's mobility network with Autobrains' "agentic AI" driving system, running on Nvidia's Drive Hyperion platform, with Munich set to serve as the first deployment city, pending regulatory approval. They said ‌the programme is designed to move robotaxi services beyond isolated pilots by creating an "OEM-agnostic" model that can operate across multiple vehicle platforms and ‌urban markets.

US takes step to halt Nvidia AI chip shipments to Chinese firms outside China

The U.S. Department of Commerce on Sunday moved to close a year-old potential loophole it had created that may ‌have led companies to export the world's most advanced chips - like Nvidia's most ‌sophisticated Rubin and Blackwell processors, as well as AMD's MI350x - to Chinese entities located outside China. The unexpected guidance suggests the United States' best AI chips may have been making their way to the subsidiaries of Chinese AI firms based in places like Malaysia for almost a year despite broader U.S. efforts to starve Chinese firms of semiconductors needed to develop critical ‌AI capabilities. The new guidance was posted on the Commerce Department's website on Sunday.

Trump and Kevin Warsh Plan a Huge Giveaway to Retirees. There’s Only One Problem

Inflation has a way of turning economics into personal finance.
