World markets, Wall Street mostly in decline on latest round tech stock selling

The technology sector was dragging markets on Wall Street and around the world mostly lower Thursday and oil prices fell despite a flurry of military strikes between the U.S. and Iran. Chip and memory companies were getting hit the hardest, with Western Digital and SanDisk leading the way down with losses of more than 7%. Despite the heavy investment in artificial intelligence, investors remain concerned that stock prices have shot too high and that the demand may not be sustainable if AI doesn’t deliver as much profit and productivity as expected.

Exclusive-AI cloud company CoreWeave explores Wall Street playbook to hedge memory-chip price risk

AI cloud computing company CoreWeave is exploring the use of financial derivatives as a potential hedge ‌against a future drop in memory and storage chip prices, according to ‌a person familiar with the matter. Oil prices jump and Asian shares slip as US and Iran carry out airstrikes

Oil prices jumped and Asian shares were mostly lower Monday after the U.S. carried out airstrikes and Iran retaliated. The price of Brent crude, the international standard, gained 3.9% to $78.96 per barrel, while U.S. benchmark crude oil added 4% to $74.26 per barrel. Prices for both types of crude oil recently had slipped back to the levels they were at before the war with Iran began, after the two sides set an interim agreement on ending the conflict and ships resumed transporting oil through the Strait of Hormuz.

Goldman Sachs sets jaw-dropping SanDisk stock price target for 2026

I have been tracking SanDisk's numbers. It’s one of my favourites. Why? Its performance, and the reason behind the big numbers. And the numbers keep doing something unusual for sure. They keep getting bigger than the already-big numbers that preceded them. If you didn’t know, SanDisk (SNDK) is the ...
