Snap said on Wednesday its first-quarter revenue rose 12% on the back of resilient advertising spending and that its number of daily active users returned to growth, driven by markets outside of North America and Europe. The Snapchat parent, squeezed between dominant platforms such as TikTok and Meta's Instagram in a crowded social media market, has been turning to subscriptions to boost its revenue, which comes predominantly from advertising sales. Snap and artificial intelligence start-up Perplexity "amicably" ended their $400 million deal in the first quarter, it said on Wednesday, around six months after announcing it.
Chime posted its first-ever quarterly profit on Wednesday, as resilient consumer spending in the first three months of the year lifted demand for the financial technology firm's digital banking products. Consumer spending remained resilient in the first quarter as individuals and businesses maintained spending trends and supported the payments sector, despite broader macroeconomic volatility linked to the war in the Middle East. Arm Holdings forecast first-quarter revenue above Wall Street expectations on Wednesday, benefiting from higher adoption of its chip technology as tech firms spend heavily on artificial intelligence compute. The company expects quarterly revenue of $1.26 billion, compared with estimates of $1.25 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG. Arm generates revenue by licensing its technology to companies such as Nvidia and Apple, collecting royalty payments for every product built using its designs.

Analysts, on average, had expected adjusted EPS of $1.49 and revenue of $24.78 billion, according to LSEG.</p><p>"All three aspects of their business did extraordinary," said Weinand, referring to streaming, theme parks and merchandise. </p><p>"I don't know the last time you've been to a theme park, but it's $300 to get in the door, and it's about $1,000 per person by the time you've left," he said.
