<body><p>STORY: U.S. stocks finished mostly lower on Wednesday, with the Dow dropping about 1% and the S&P 500 shedding more than a quarter of a percent. The Nasdaq, however, ticked up two-tenths of a percent.</p><p>Speaking at a NATO summit, President Donald Trump said an interim deal aimed at ending the war with Iran was "over," and warned that the U.S. would likely carry out additional strikes Wednesday night.</p><p>Trump's comments marked the latest setback in talks that have swung between threats of escalation and hopes for diplomacy, leaving investors wrong-footed by many false starts toward a peace deal.</p><p>Chris Brigati, chief investment officer at SWBC says investors should expect more market volatility ahead.</p><p>"The market got complacent. We had a lot of news coming out of the Middle East, out of Washington D.C. where there was going to be progress and peace talks, and then there was, and then there wasn't. And now it's back on again and off again. Those challenges have made it very difficult to manage these waters. And ultimately what it does is it creates volatility, and volatility creates opportunity - that's a good thing - but it's hard to be able to manage through all the volatility."</p><p>:: Archive</p><p>Oil prices jumped following Trump's remarks, with Brent crude futures settling up more than 5%.</p><p>Among Wednesday's stock moves, SpaceX fell below its debut trading price of $150 for the second day in a row to record its lowest close since its June 12 public offering.</p><p>On the flipside, shares of Broadcom rallied more than 4.5% after Apple said it plans to spend more than $30 billion as part of a chip-supply agreement reached earlier this week with the chipmaker.</p><p>:: Nvidia</p><p>And shares of Nvidia rose more than 3.5% after The Information&nbsp;reported that China plans to allow its top AI firms to buy a limited number of the company's H200 chips.</p><p>Elsewhere in the market, energy price-sensitive travel stocks fell as higher oil prices stoked concerns over fuel costs and demand. United Airlines and Delta Air Lines both slipped, as did cruise operators&nbsp;Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Line.</p></body>
