A sudden shift in geopolitical risk flipped the switch on AI cloud stocks Monday morning, sending CoreWeave, Snowflake, Oracle and Nebius sharply higher, but the group carries a history of giving back gains just as fast as it captures them.
CoreWeave's revenue backlog just hit nearly $100 billion while its stock trades near a 52-week low, and that gap between signal and price is exactly where the opportunity or the trap lives.
CoreWeave partnered with Leidos to provide AI cloud services for federal agencies.

CoreWeave stock has fallen sharply over the past year, yet on traditional valuation multiples it still screens as undervalued while its broader valuation checks lean the other way. For investors, that split between recent share price weakness and a low value score raises questions about how to treat the current level. CoreWeave has declined 35.2% over the past year, which suggests the market has become more cautious about the company despite enthusiasm around AI infrastructure. Large AI...

CoreWeave is the latest company having to pay up to attract investors into a data center-related debt sale. The AI computing company just revised the terms of its $2.6 billion leveraged loan sale, offering yields of around 5.5 percentage points above benchmark SOFR interest rates, a person familiar with the matter said. "As with any first-of-its-kind financing structure, aspects of the transaction evolved during syndication as investors evaluated the opportunity."

Situational Awareness, an AI-focused hedge fund run by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner, sold the bulk of its stock portfolio to Ken Griffin’s Citadel after being battered by heavy losses in its tech holdings, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Thursday. Situational was forced to unwind most of its public equities portfolio, which included sizable holdings in several prominent AI names that have been rocked by the recent market selloff, the sources said, requesting anonymity as the discussions are confidential. The fund was under pressure to either raise fresh capital from investors or offload its entire book, and eventually chose the latter option, the sources added.
