Why Marvell Technology (MRVL) Shares Are Trading Lower Today

Shares of networking chips designer Marvell Technology (NASDAQ: MRVL) fell 4.1% in the afternoon session after a leverage-driven rout in South Korean chipmakers, renewed doubts about debt-funded AI capital spending, and a hawkish repricing of Fed rate expectations hit the year's most crowded trade, leaving the whole complex hostage to Micron's earnings after the close.

US Stock Market Today: S&P 500 Futures Slip As Factory Data Signals Cooling Economy

The Morning Bull - US Market Morning Update Wednesday, Jun, 17 2026 US stock futures are mixed this morning, with S&P 500 contracts slightly softer while Nasdaq 100 futures edge up, as investors weigh a steady US 10 year yield near 4.47% against soft factory data. The 4.47% yield matters because it anchors mortgage costs and business borrowing, so a stable reading suggests no fresh rate shock ahead of the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting. At the same time, US industrial output for May grew...

S&P 500, Nasdaq end up as chipmakers rebound

And that's a concern. I think that concern persists as oil and natural gas prices linger higher. And the longer that persists, the more likely we are to have a Fed feel they need to raise rates late this year. I certainly feel that right now the base case for the Fed is a hike, not a cut, as their next move. And I think with each week and month that this Middle East conflict continues. The odds of that hike get pulled forward.”

:: Apple

Other stocks on the move included Apple which dropped almost 2% after announcing a Siri revamp at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference.

:: AWS

And shares of Corning gained 5.5% after Amazon announced a multi-year multi-billion-dollar deal to buy the company's optical fiber and cables for its data centers.
