Costco (COST) Stock May Be Priced For Perfection On Cash Flow

Costco Wholesale has delivered a powerful long term share price run, yet the recent pullback and fresh headlines on margins and special dividends put a sharper question on the table for you as an investor. Is the current US$893.93 stock price fully explained by the cash Costco can generate over time, once you strip away short term swings in sentiment and sector calls? Over the past 5 years the stock has gained about 108.3%, which puts real weight on whether that climb is in line with what...

Should You Buy Home Depot Stock Near Its Lowest Price-To-Sales In Ten Years?

Home Depot (HD) shares trade near $300, down about 26% over the past year, while the S&P 500 returned about 17%. Housing turnover has sat at historic lows for four years, and investors doubt the quality of Home Depot's reported profit. One number argues the other way. The stock trades at 1.8 times trailing sales, against a ten-year range of 1.7 to 2.9.

Stocks Bend, but Don’t Break, in Head-Spinning September. More Tests Are Coming.

A massive surge in Treasury bond yields, which lifted 10-year notes to the highest since 2007, paired with a worrying summer rally in global crude prices that has oil trading firmly north of $100 a barrel, leaned heavily on stocks but didn’t tip them over. A Federal Reserve interest-rate hike, coupled with hawkish language and quickening inflation forecasts, also came and went, with stocks posting their strongest gains in six weeks and an index of the Magnificent Seven tech giants coming within half a point of the all-time high it reached in late May. Tech stocks, in fact, have largely weathered a series of “end of days” headlines from the AI space, with an index of semiconductor stocks falling around 3.3% over the past month and those in the information technology edging just 1.2% lower despite the torrent of stories tied to apocalyptic AI risks.

Can Kroger Keep Its Earnings Promise With Sales This Weak?

Kroger (KR) has cut its 2026 same-store sales outlook and kept its 2026 profit outlook. If you own the stock, the easy comfort is that earnings held. The risk sits inside that comfort. The cost savings holding up profit are the same savings management plans to spend on lower shelf prices, and the stock is down 15% over the past six months.

2 Reasons to Like COST (and 1 Not So Much)

Over the past six months, Costco’s shares (currently trading at $894.40) have posted a disappointing 10.2% loss, well below the S&P 500’s 12.9% gain. This may have investors wondering how to approach the situation.
