Chevron CEO Mike Wirth says the oil company is in discussions with Iraq about potentially entering one or two oil fields there, including a framework that would allow the construction of a pipeline to get around the Strait of Hormuz. Wirth told Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures that the discussions involve a pipeline that would traverse north and then move to the Mediterranean Sea, creating "a pathway for that production to get to market" without dealing with the Strait of Hormuz. Wirth said Chevron's production was up 20% in the second quarter, and up 5% just since the first quarter to the second quarter.
