Investing.com -- Crypto-related stocks sold off Tuesday after the Senate blocked a digital asset market structure bill in a procedural vote. The legislation failed to reach the 60 votes needed to advance.

The Clarity Act, a bill which would have established a regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies and other digital assets, has failed to pass a procedural Senate vote. The votes fell short of the 60 needed to invoke cloture, or to progress the bill to the next stage, coming in at 49 votes in favor.

The CLARITY Act fell short of 60 Senate votes on Tuesday. Circle stock dropped 11% as the crypto bill stalled.

ARK Invest singled out one crypto stock for its heaviest selling of the session, and the Senate vote looming today could either rescue it or accelerate the slide for reasons that have nothing to do with the broader market.
