The new month, historically the worst for the stock market, hasn’t quite started yet but it’s already looking like being fraught with risk. The market is getting more confident that the Federal Reserve will hike interest rates on Sept. 16, even if Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh didn’t quite say as much in his Jackson Hole speech Friday. Oil prices aren’t helping, rising above $90 a barrel after the U.S. attacked Iran over the weekend.

ERock Shares Jump on Anthropic Deal

Shares in on-site power provider ERock soared nearly 23% on Wednesday after the company said that Anthropic had placed a big order. ERock, which sells natural-gas power systems to data centers and others that need on-site power or backup generation, said Anthropic was ordering 470 megawatts of equipment. ERock also said it had started construction on a 366-megawatt generation facility for El Paso Electric, which will support a Meta Platforms data-center campus.
