Quantum sector ignites on $2B federal backing aimed at beating China in tech race
Several quantum computing stocks rallied Thursday on expectations of deals that will see the federal government take stakes in the firms.
A handful of quantum-computing companies have been given grants that include U.S. government equity stakes, sending their shares higher in premarket trading: IBM is getting $1 billion of the $2 billion total package.
The company reported a narrower loss than expected, while revenue missed Wall Street consensus estimates.
