U.S. stocks fell in a jittery session amid doubts about the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The broad S&P 500 lost 13.59 points, or 0.18%, to 7709.96 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite declined 15.09 points, or 0.06%, to 26348.35. Hertz stock jumped in premarket trading Thursday after the company’s quarterly earnings topped Wall Street estimates, offering some relief to weary investors.
