Every strategy in this catalog is backtested on real IBKR daily-bar data across our entire ticker universe — no cherry-picking. The matrix shows ALL results including the strategies that lose money (verdict DEAD or WEAK), because honest failure visibility is part of the rigor. Verdict thresholds: ROBUST = profit factor ≥1.5 + positive return + ≥5 trades; WEAK = PF ≥1.0; DEAD = PF <1.0; NO_SIGNAL = strategy didn't fire. Sharpe is annualized; max DD is peak-to-trough on equity curve. Beats-B&H = strategy total return > buy-and-hold of same ticker over same window. Updated each time we run the matrix; latest run timestamp shown above the table.
Volatility-expansion: buy when bands compress to bottom 25% of recent range AND price breaks upper band.
ATR compression + close > N-day high + volume confirmation. High-conviction, low-frequency.
Turtle-style: buy on 55-day high break, exit on 20-day low break. Long-only.
RSI(5) on 5M bars: buy at ≤20 (oversold spike), exit at ≥50 or +0.8% TP / -0.5% stop. Flattens at EOD. Pure microstructure bounce. Fires 5-15x/day.
Long-term: buy on SMA(50)/SMA(200) golden cross, sell on death cross. Very low frequency.

Textbook RSI(14): buy on cross-up through 30, sell on cross-down through 70. The naive baseline.
Buy when supertrend flips bullish (+1), exit when flips bearish (-1). ATR-adaptive trend follower.
Buy when 5M close drops ≥1.5% below session VWAP AND dip is ≥1×ATR AND volume ≥1.5×avg. Exit when reverts to VWAP. Flattens at EOD. Fires 3-8x/day on volatile names.
Walk-forward validation splits each strategy×ticker pair into K rolling train/test folds — train on bars 0..N, test on bars N..N+M, slide forward, repeat. The verdict comes only from out-of-sample test windows, so data-snooping (the trap of optimizing parameters on the same data you evaluate on) cannot inflate it. Pass criterion per fold: positive return AND profit factor ≥1.0 AND ≥1 trade. WF_ROBUST = ≥60% folds pass; WF_WEAK = 40-60%; WF_DEAD = <40%. Compare avg_in_sample_return vs avg_oos_return_pct on each row — large gaps reveal overfit.

Walk-forward optimization runs each strategy×ticker through a per-fold grid search: for each rolling fold, the optimizer searches PARAM_GRID on the TRAIN window, picks the params with the highest in-sample Sharpe (with a profit-factor ≥ 1.0 + min-trades floor), then evaluates THOSE params on the out-of-sample TEST window. The displayed verdict reflects how often the strategy passed OOS with optimizer-chosen params. param_stability = % of folds where the SAME config wins; ≥0.5 means the winning params are stable evidence the edge is real and we know what to deploy. WF_OPT_ROBUST is the strongest credential — stronger than plain walk-forward because the optimizer cannot leak full-history info into its choice. Best_params shown for each row are what we'd actually use if deploying that combo to a live bot.
