<body><p>STORY: Wall Street's main indexes ended modestly higher on Tuesday, with the Dow making the biggest move, gaining&nbsp; just under half a percent, the S&P 500 ticking up more than a tenth of a percent and the Nasdaq nudging up slightly.</p><p>The AI fervor that's powered the market to multiple new highs this spring&nbsp;was counterbalanced on Tuesday by tensions arising from U.S.-Iran peace talks.</p><p>On the economic front, a report from the Labor Department showed an unexpected spike in job openings, driven by the professional and business services sector. Otherwise, hirings, firings and the number of people quitting their jobs all decreased, suggesting a slowdown in labor market churn.</p><p>Kevin Nicholson is global fixed income chief investment officer at RiverFront Investment Group.</p><p>"Stocks are taking a breather today. I think that a large part of it has been that we've had such a quick and sudden rally over the last two months, and it's rallied really hard. And I think that with the economic data coming in today, along with the potential of a Iran peace deal, I think that investors are just taking a pause just to see where things are actually going to shake out."</p><p>Stocks on the move included Hewlett Packard Enterprise, which jumped 19.5% a day after the AI server maker's strong results showed the company's on track ​to hit its long-term financial targets two years ahead of schedule.</p><p>::&nbsp; Archive</p><p>Shares of Marvell Technology surged 32.5% after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called the chipmaker the next "trillion-dollar company." Nvidia invested $2 billion in Marvell in March.</p><p>And a more than 5% drop in bitcoin hit cryptocurrency firms. Shares of Coinbase shed more than 4.5% while Strategy sank more than 9%.</p></body>
