Memory Chip Prices Will Make or Break DRAM ETF Before Year-End 2026

The Roundhill Memory ETF (CBOE:DRAM) is the first U.S.-listed pure-play memory-chip ETF, and it landed in the middle of one of the most violent upcycles the industry has ever seen. DRAM launched on April 2, 2026 with a 0.65% expense ratio, just as Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) was approaching a trillion-dollar market cap. Micron is up ... Exclusive-South Korea labour minister calls on tech firms to share excess AI profits with suppliers, staff

South Korea's labour minister called on the country's major tech firms to share the spoils of their massive windfall profits, warning that unprecedented chip-sector gains stemming from the AI boom risked widening a gap in inequality. In an interview, Kim Young-hoon told Reuters that companies like Samsung Electronics that outperform ‌profit targets should consider sharing excess gains with suppliers, subcontractors and their workers, after deducting taxes, given their contributions to corporate growth. The South Korean government, businesses, unions and suppliers should engage ‌in a public dialogue on how to share such "excess profits" and narrow the gap between large conglomerates and smaller suppliers, he said.

Taiwan Semiconductor Delivers 2,095% Gain Over 10 Years. Will It Continue To Outperform?

A decade ago, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM) was respected but boring. It made chips for Apple, Qualcomm, and a long list of fabless designers, and the market valued it like a cyclical industrial. Then the node race got serious. TSMC pulled away from Samsung and Intel at 7nm, then 5nm, then 3nm, and the ... Taiwan Semiconductor Delivers 2,095% Gain Over 10 Years. Will It Continue To Outperform?

Nvidia CEO mounts charm push in South Korea with TV talk show, baseball appearances

When Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang makes his second visit to South Korea in just seven months this week, it won't be only to meet top memory chip and robotics executives, but ‌to throw the first pitch at a baseball game and appear on a TV talk show. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix between them make about 70% of the memory needed for AI chips like Nvidia's. And the country's strength in manufacturing and robotics sets it up to be a key player in physical AI, where AI is embedded in robots, cars and factories. "Nvidia's dependence on South Korean suppliers is rising," Jeff Kim, an analyst at Seoul-based KB Securities, wrote in a research note.

SK Hynix tells investors its US listing plan wins their strong backing, source says

SK Hynix told some investors this week that it had "tremendously positive" feedback ‌from stockholders to its U.S. listing plan given AI demand and the company's competitive position in the memory-chip market, the person said. The company, a major supplier to Nvidia, expects a U.S. listing to broaden its investor base, as some U.S.-based institutional investors invest in U.S.-listed stocks only due to internal mandates, the person said.
