A blowout earnings report from deep inside the AI server supply chain sent shockwaves through the chip sector Wednesday, lifting three of the biggest names in logic silicon and raising the stakes for what could be an even bigger catalyst on the horizon.

Shares in on-site power provider ERock soared nearly 23% on Wednesday after the company said that Anthropic had placed a big order. ERock, which sells natural-gas power systems to data centers and others that need on-site power or backup generation, said Anthropic was ordering 470 megawatts of equipment. ERock also said it had started construction on a 366-megawatt generation facility for El Paso Electric, which will support a Meta Platforms data-center campus.
