Moody's Ratings has changed its outlook to negative on a Blackstone private-credit fund and a fund managed by Golub. The credit-rating firm made the change in outlook because of rising defaults in the private corporate loans made by the funds, which are known as business development companies, or BDCs. The ratio of defaulted loans in Blackstone Secured Lending Fund jumped to 4.7% from 0.6% last quarter, while Golub Capital BDC's ratio nearly doubled to 2.3% from 1.3%.

Google and Blackstone have formed a joint venture to offer AI data center capacity, networking and computer hardware as a “compute-as-a-service product,” the asset manager said. The tie-up opens a new avenue in the rush of private equity into AI infrastructure, moving it beyond data centers and into the business of financing compute itself.
