Consider the potential risk and reward of SpaceX stock heading into earnings season.
The past few months have seen frenetic buying and selling by individual stock traders. Leading market maker Citadel Securities says that retail cash equity volumes in May hit a record, doubling in two years. Then that accelerated in June with nine of the 10 busiest days the market maker has ever experienced coming in a month, according to a mid-June report by strategist Scott Rubner.
Tech bull Dan Ives of Wedbush initiated coverage of SpaceX with an Outperform rating and a $190 price target, weighing in on a stock that has whipsawed investors in the three weeks since its record-setting initial public offering. Ives sees SpaceX as a player in the hyperscaler wars too.
Analysts at Wedbush gave SpaceX an "outperform" rating with a price target of $190 a share. The stock rose 2% on Wednesday morning.
